Deputy Sheriff Daniel McCartney was shot and killed while responding to a burglary that led to a foot pursuit on January 8, 2018.
Deputy McCartney was 34 years old and is survived by his wife and three sons. He previously served with the Hoquiam Police Department for six years and served with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department for three years. He also earned several honors while serving in the U.S. Navy.
When the Give Blue fundraiser began it swept through the state of Washington, touching the hearts of many. Thousands of people took part in the fundraiser and spread news of his service and sacrifice over social media. We send our deepest thanks to everyone that participated and continues to wear their Thin Blue Line Bracelet in honor of Deputy McCartney.
"There's a sadness that will be felt and should be felt in the community," Pierce County Sheriff Paul Pastor said. "He is a young deputy who signed up to watch over other people. He had an ethic in his heart for doing something for other people." - Q13 Fox
A total donation of $13,340.03 was donated to the Crime Stoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County, to benefit the Daniel McCartney Legacy Fund. The donation will continue the honorable service Deputy McCartney displayed. His service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
God bless you, Daniel McCartney. May you rest in peace.
How do I know that percentage of my order will definitely be going to the two FALLEN HEROES in Westerville, Oh
I contacted FOP#9 and they had no affiliation with your company. Maybe you should contact the Ohio FOP#9 Lodge to confirm as others are asking me that want to order…I state that I still want and need my merchandise ASAP, just wanted to know whether to use THIMLINEBLUE again..If o, THANK YOU. we lost our one and only officer, Chief DiSario who had only bee on the job in our tiny village of 60+ homes, he was ambushed and was killed as well as two women, it was as usual a domestic violence case…Bless those who truly help these Heroes, do you do the same for our RED LINE HEROES, OUR firefighers??? Thanks
