19-year-old Firefighter Trenton Johnson was killed during a firefighter operation near Florence Lake, Missoula County, Montana.

Trenton Johnson graduated from his high school of Hellgate HS in 2016, National Honors Society Member and captain of the Lacrosse team. He then went on to Montana State University for two years, while completing his firefighter training

Johnson and part of his team, were responding to a lightning strike on Rice Ridge which caused a fire covering ½ of an acre.  Johnson, tasked with keeping away the undergrowth, was standing under a burning tree when it snapped, falling on top of Trenton. Firefighter Johnson died later that day after making it to the evacuation site.
