Police Officer Floyd East, Jr. was shot and killed while questioning a narcotics suspect at the Texas Tech University Police Department on October 9, 2017. The subject was a student that attended the university.
Officer East had recently been transferred to the Lubbock campus, where he served for five months. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Our Give Blue fundraiser was set up in his memory. Supporters from across the country offered their testaments and condolences. We send our deepest thanks to everyone that participated and continues to wear their Thin Blue Line Bracelet in honor of Officer East.
A total donation of $1,756.19 was made to the Texas Fallen Officer Foundation. The donation will continue the service that Floyd displayed by providing aid to officers killed or critically injured in the line-of-duty and their families throughout the state of Texas.
