Remembering Keith Boyer | Give Blue | $6,483.97 Donated

by Thin Blue Line USA March 28, 2017

On Monday, February 20th, 2017, Officer Keith Boyer was shot and killed during a criminal investigation in Whittier, California. Officer Boyer was 53 and had served for a 27-year tour.

Whittier Police Chief Jeff Piper affectionately referred to Officer Boyer as "the best of the best." and said "“He was a personal friend of mine for over 25 years." The amazing gathering of officers for Keith Boyers procession show the impact he had made on his community.

Officer Boyer poured his life and service into his community beyond that required of the badge. He regularly performed as a drummer in a band that performed for charity events. Another band member stated, “He was genuinely the nicest guy you’d ever want to meet and he had a great joy of performing music and bringing smiles to people." Keith Boyer died defending his community from senseless and horrible violence, and the sacrifice he made will never be forgotten.

When the news of Officer Boyer's sacrifice reached us at Thin Blue Line USA, we began a fundraiser to help support the family he was so loved by. Through the support of the nation and Whittier California, we were able to help raise $6,483.97 to donate back to the Whittier Police Department Benevolent Fund. We thank everyone who took part in this fundraiser for their generosity and commitment to honoring our nation's fallen officers.
