Press Release | Thin Blue Line USA to donate over $25,000 to family of fallen Oklahoma police officer

by Thin Blue Line USA April 25, 2017

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Thin Blue Line USA, a social enterprise with the mission of giving back to the law enforcement community, recently raised more than $25,000 for the Justin Terney Memorial Fund. They will donate all of the funds to the family of the late Officer Justin Terney on Wednesday, May 3, at the Tecumseh Police Department.

Thin Blue Line USA President and Founder Andrew Jacob, along with Vice President Pete Forhan, will travel from Ann Arbor to Tecumseh, Oklahoma, where they will join the Tecumseh Police Department to honor and pay tribute to Terney’s life. The official program will begin at 9:30 a.m. and Thin Blue Line USA will meet with Terney’s family to present the donation to them.

“The loss of Justin Terney truly puts into perspective the work we do at Thin Blue Line USA,” said Jacob. “This young officer was just 22 years old, the same age as me, and he had a life of committed service ahead of him.”

As the devastating news about the loss of Officer Terney spread across the nation, Thin Blue Line USA launched a viral fundraising campaign to recognize the young officer’s sacrifice. Through online sales of thousands of “Thin Blue Line USA Officer Justin Terney bracelets”, the fundraiser garnered significant public support and recognition for law enforcement, raising $25,099.14, of which 100% of the proceeds will go to Officer Terney’s family, including his mother Holly Terney.

“We are thankful to work with Thin Blue Line USA to present the donation to the Terney family,” said Tecumseh Assistant Police Chief J.R. Kidney. “Our department helped arrange a meeting with TBL USA and Officer Terney’s family, and it’s a very powerful thing to see the community band together in support of a young man and his family.”

Next Wednesday’s May 3rd event is only open to members of the media.

Location: Tecumseh Police Department, Tecumseh, Oklahoma
