Remembering Firefighter Michael Davidson | $1,032.04 Donated

by Kelleigh Lamb April 19, 2018

Firefighter Michael Davidson died after a large fire broke out in a building that was being used as a movie set on March 22, 2018.

Davidson served with the New York City Fire Department for 15 years and is survived by his wife and four children.

The Give Blue Fundraiser began upon hearing the tragic news. A video was launched and inspired countless comments honoring Davidson, who heroically sacrificed himself to save others. We send our deepest thanks to everyone that took part and continues to wear their Thin Red Line Bracelet in his honor.

"For him, it was not just enough to serve," Mayor Bill de Blasio said at the service. "He exhibited so many forms of leadership. He was a cornerstone." - FOX5NY.COM

A total donation of $1,032.04 was made to Answer the Call, a New York-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that directly benefits the family. His bravery and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

God bless you, Michael Davidson. May you rest in peace.
