Remembering Fire Captain David Rosa | Give Blue | $2,870.52 Donated

by Kelleigh Lamb July 04, 2018

Fire Captain David Rosa was killed by a gunman after responding to a fire alarm on June 25, 2018.

Captain Rosa was 45 years old and is survived by his wife and two sons. He served with the Long Beach Fire Department for 17 years.

After hearing the unexpected news, we began our Give Blue Fundraiser to give back to the family of this fallen hero. We send our deepest thanks to everyone that took part and continues to wear their Thin Red/Blue Line Bracelet in honor of Captain Rosa.

"Just grief stricken by losing an amazing man with Capt. Rosa. He was the essence of what I would identify a Long Beach firefighter to be - a dedicated, compassionate, caring and committed individual," he said. "Not only to his family, but to the fire department and to the citizens of this city. You just can't find people like that - they're irreplaceable. Dave and his legacy will live forever with us." - Long Beach Fire Department Public Information Officer, Jake Heflin, ABC 7

A total of $2,870.52 was donated to Friends of Long Beach Firefighters.

God bless you, David Rosa. May you rest in peace.
