Deputy Sheriff Eric Overall was killed early in the morning on Thanksgiving Day 2017. He was laying down stop sticks to end a high-speed chase when the fleeing subject deliberately ran him down.

Deputy Overall served with the Oakland County Sheriff's Office for 22 years. He is survived by his wife and son.

Our Give Blue Fundraiser began shortly after the tragedy occurred. The loss of this hero was close to home. Thin Blue Line USA, based in Ann Arbor, works closely with Oakland County, and many employees were born in raised in the area. The fundraiser swept across Michigan; sparking overwhelming contributions and support for the family of this fallen hero. We send our deepest thanks to everyone that took part and continues to wear their Thin Blue Line Bracelet in his honor.

"It's impossible to make sense out of something senseless, but he was doing what defined him: dying while trying to make sure no one else got hurt. That is the embodiment of a hero," said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. - The Detroit News

A total donation of $7,055.72 was made to the Michigan Fallen Heroes Memorial. This donation will continue the dedicated service Deputy Overall devoted to his community.

God bless you, Eric Overall. May you rest in peace.
