Corporal Michael Middlebrook was shot and killed while responding to a shooting at a convenience store on October 1, 2017. The subject opened fire upon his arrival and fled the scene. The man was later arrested.
Corporal Middlebrook was a 9-year-veteran of the U.S. Army and served with the Lafayette Police Department for nine years. He is survived by his wife and children.
Our Give Blue fundraiser began to honor this hero and his bravery. The community of Lafayette joined together in honoring his service with generous contributions. We send our deepest thanks to everyone that participated and continues to wear their Thin Blue Line Bracelet in honor of Corporal Middlebrook.
A donation of $8,297.52 was made to the City of Lafayette Police Department Fallen Heroes Fund to provide financial relief to the family. The donation will continue the legacy of service that Michael exhibited.
God bless, you Michael Middlebrook. May you rest in peace.
