The West Bloomfield Police Honor Guard Unit was established in early 2000 to provide comfort and support for the families of fallen officers, their respective departments and to the community. Their duties are considered a great honor which must be performed with the utmost precision, reverence and respect.

In 2012 when Sergeant Patrick O’Rourke died in the line of duty, as sworn peace officers, the Honor Guard paid their respects to the O’Rourke family and to their brother in blue.

Since the tragic death of Sergeant Patrick O’Rourke they have been recognized as one of the top teams in the state and on a national level during Police Week ceremonies in Washington, DC. We are proud to offer a challenge coin which pays tribute to the service of the West Bloomfield Police Honor Guard and to remember the fallen.

Our beautifully crafted, antique-gold and nickel plated, challenge coin features the traditional 13-fold American Flag to pay tribute to the families of fallen officers, while the Badge and Thin Blue Line American Flag pay tribute to the police department and the service and dedication of our officers.
