Two Separate Officers Murdered in Just 12 Hours

It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of two brave heroes across the United States today. Officer Justin Billa in Alabama and Corporal Mujahid Ramzziddin in Maryland were both gunned down protecting people in need. Both beloved, both taken far too soon from their families and both unwavering in their dedication to protect. May they rest in peace. Participate in the fundraisers: http://bit.ly/2qt48gn Please note: We are currently in communication with the department to determine the correct fund for donations in memory of Corporal Ramzziddin. The fundraiser will be made available when the information is released.

Police Officer Justin Billa was shot and killed while responding to a murder investigation on February 20, 2018. The suspect opened fire as Officer Billa and other officers arrived at the scene.

Officer Billa was 27 years old and served with the Mobile Police Department for two years. He is survived by his wife and 1-year-old son.

Our Give Blue fundraiser was set up in his memory. Thousands of people took part in the fundraiser and spread news of his sacrifice over social media. We send our deepest thanks to everyone that participated and continues to wear their Thin Blue Line Bracelet in honor of Officer Billa.

"Take strength in knowing that when an officer falls, our resolve to serve those in need is not diminished. Our dedication to protecting those in danger is not weakened. We honor the proud service of Officer Justin Billa and all of those who protect and serve our community." - Mobile Mayer Sandy Stimpson, WKRG News

A total donation of $17,625.66 was made to the Officer Justin Billa Memorial Fund to directly support the family. The donation will continue the honorable service Officer Billa displayed. His bravery will never be forgotten.

God bless you, Justin Billa. May you rest in peace.
