Officer David Sherrard was shot and killed while responding to a disturbance call on February 7, 2018.

Officer Sherrard was 37 years old and is survived by his wife and two daughters. He served with the Richardson Police Department for 13 years.

Supporters from across the country responded to our Give Blue fundraiser, set up to honor Officer Sherrard's memory. We send our deepest thanks to everyone that took part and continues to wear their Thin Blue Line Bracelet in honor of this brave officer.

"We're here honoring a true hero," Richardson Police Chief Jimmy Spivey said. "He made a true sacrifice, and he made that sacrifice coming to the aid of people he did not know."- Dallas News

A total donation of $5,881.73 was donated to DPA's Assist the Officers Foundation, Richardson Police Officers Association, to directly support the family. The donation will continue the great service that David provided to his community.
